A significant step has been taken to strengthen cooperation between Türkiye and Iraq in the field of industrial property.
In the presence of H.E. President Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN and H.E. Prime Minister of Iraq Ali ez-ZEYDI, the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Industrial Property was signed at the Presidential Complex on 28 July 2026 by H.E. Mehmet Fatih KACIR, Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye, and H.E. Falih SARI, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Iraq.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) and the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC) of Iraq have been designated as the implementing authorities on behalf of their respective countries.
The Memorandum of Understanding aims to enhance the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the field of industrial property, strengthen institutional capacity, and promote joint activities between the two countries.
