At the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Union Meeting held as part of the 68th General Assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which took place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 7 to 15 July 2026, it was decided to extend TÜRKPATENT's appointment as an International Searching Authority (ISA) and International Preliminary Examining Authority (IPEA) until 31 December 2037.
This decision once again confirms the confidence placed in TÜRKPATENT's technical expertise and reliability within the international patent system, while further strengthening Türkiye's contribution to the global innovation ecosystem.
As one of the limited number of patent offices authorized to conduct international patent search and preliminary examination under the PCT, TÜRKPATENT will continue to contribute to the effective, reliable, and high-quality operation of the international patent system in the years ahead.
