Afyon Pastırması has reached the final stage of its registration application made with the European Commission

Afyon Pastırması, whose application was found appropriate by the EU Commission, was published in the EU Official Gazette today (February 6, 2025). 

President of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) Prof. Dr. M. Zeki DURAK announced that Afyon Pastırması has reached the final stage of registration in the European Union.

Prof. Dr. M. Zeki DURAK, President of TÜRKPATENT, saying "We continue to register our country local values ​​in the European Union. Afyon Pastırması has reached the final stage of its registration application made with the European Commission. It will be registered in the European Union after the three-month objection period.” 

Stating that there are currently 30 geographical indications registered in the European Union, DURAK noted that the processes of a total of 79 applications, 5 of which are in the announcement phase, are ongoing.
