Bursa Siyah İnciri (Fig) was registered in the European Union

Bursa Siyah İnciri (Fig) has become our 26th geographical indication registered in the European Union as of September 4, 2024.

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih KACIR announced in a statement he made on the social media platform X that Bursa Siyah İnciri has been registered by the European Union. Minister KACIR said, “The news regarding the international registration of our products with geographical indications is following one after another. Bursa Siyah İnciri has become our 26th geographical indication registered in the European Union.”

Emphasizing that Turkiye is continuing to carry its rich cultural and flavor heritage to the world stage, Minister KACIR said, “The registration processes of our 61 applications, 4 of which are in the announcement phase, are ongoing. May it be auspicious for Bursa and our country.”

TURKPATENT President Prof. Dr. M. Zeki DURAK also made a statement on the social media platform X as, “We continue to introduce our country's rich cultural and flavor heritage to the world with our geographical indications. Bursa Black Fig has become our 26th geographical indication registered by the European Union. May it be beneficial for Bursa and our country.”
