Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih KACIR shared the information that the examination processes of the geographical indication applications made to the European Union for Edremit Körfezi Yeşil Çizik Zeytini (Olive), Ezine Peyniri (Cheese) and Maraş Tarhanası have been completed and published.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih KACIR, who recently announced that Ayaş Domatesi (Tomato) had been published in the EU Official Gazette following the completion of the examination processes, gave the good news of three more geographical indications which are on the way to registration in the European Union.
In addition to our 13 registered geographical indications in the European Union, we have 5 applications at the announcement stage and 39 applications at the examination stage.
Geographical indications, whose applications are approved by the EU Commission, are registered in the EU Official Journal after the expiration of the 3-month objection period. In the coming days, Milas Yağlı Zeytini (Olives), whose objection period will expire today; Ayaş Domatesi, Edremit Körfezi Yeşil Çizik Zeytini, Ezine Peyniri and Maraş Tarhanası are expected to be registered in November.
