“Geographical Indications Webinar” Organized for Uzbekistan Intellectual Property Agency
The “Geographical Indications Webinar” was organized by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TURKPATENT) for the Uzbekistan Intellectual Property Agency, on January 21, 2025.
The webinar began with the opening speeches of TÜRKPATENT President Prof. Dr. Zeki DURAK and Uzbekistan Deputy Minister of Justice MUZRAF IKRAMOV.
The three-day webinar addressed the legal infrastructure and control systems for the protection of geographical indications, legal protection processes, branding, promotion and marketing strategies, successful application examples and field experiences in Türkiye.
The knowledge and experience of TÜRKPATENT were shared in order to contribute to capacity building efforts in the new process in Uzbekistan, that began with the entry into force of the Geographical Indications Law in 2022.
