According to the announced report, while Turkey made progress in 4 indicators related to industrial property, it managed to maintain its place in 4 indicators.
The Global Innovation Index 2022 Report prepared by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Switzerland-based agency of the United Nations (UN), has been published.
Turkey rose 4 places in 2022 to 37th place. Turkey has managed to enter the top 40 for the first time, climbing 14 places in the Index in the last two years. Turkey also maintained its 4th place among 36 upper-middle-income countries.
According to the announced report, while Turkey made progress in 4 indicators related to industrial property, it managed to maintain its place in 4 indicators.
• Moved from 5th to 1st in the Design Applications indicator.
• It rose from 20th to 17th in the Utility Model Applications indicator.
• It rose from 56th to 44th place in the ratio of Intellectual Property Expenditures to Total Trade indicator.
• Ratio of Intellectual Property Revenues to Total Trade indicator rose from 76th to 66th place.
Turkey maintained its place in the Index in 2021 in terms of Patent Applications, Patent Applications with at least Two Different Offices, International Patent Applications and Trademark Applications.
