Prof. Dr. Muhammed Zeki DURAK, President of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT), celebrated April 26 World Intellectual Property Day with a post on his social media account.
DURAK stated:
“Happy April 26 World Intellectual Property Day.
In line with our National Technology Initiative vision, we are expanding an innovation ecosystem strengthened by intellectual property.
According to data from the World Intellectual Property Organization, Türkiye ranks 3rd in the world in domestic design applications, 6th in domestic trademark applications, and 10th in domestic patent applications.
We rank first in the world in the proportion of women inventors in international patent applications (PCT).
Our industrial property portfolio, exceeding 2 million, is a strong indicator of our country’s capacity to produce innovation.
Under the leadership of our President, Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN, and with the support of our Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih KACIR, Türkiye continues to rise steadily in global competition in technology and innovation.”
