Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih KACIR announced that Mut Zeytinyağı (Olive Oil) and Kırkağaç Kavunu (Melon) have been officially registered in the European Union (EU).
Minister KACIR emphasized that geographically indicated products are a key component of their Local Development Initiative, stating:
"We are determined to continue branding our geographically indicated products on a global scale."
KACIR shared the news of the EU geographical indication registration of Mut Zeytinyağı (Olive Oil) and Kırkağaç Kavunu (Melon) via his social media account.
Highlighting the significance of geographically indicated products within their Local Development Initiative, KACIR said:
"Mut Zeytinyağı (Olive Oil and Kırkağaç Kavunu (Melon) have become our 37th and 38th products to be registered in the EU. The abundance of Anatolia, our unique flavors, are now officially recognized in Europe. This achievement is the result of our producers’ efforts, the value of our land, and the legacy of our civilization. We will resolutely continue to brand our geographically indicated products on a global scale. I sincerely congratulate all those who contributed, especially our producers."
