Pioneers of Industrial Property Meet up at TURKPATENT: "PATLIB 2024 Conference"

Organized in cooperation with TURKPATENT and EPO, the "PATLIB 2024 Conference" will be hosted by TURKPATENT on September 19–20, 2024. Important actors of the industrial property ecosystem will come together at this event.

Organized in cooperation with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TURKPATENT) and the European Patent Office (EPO), the "PATLIB 2024 Conference", one of the most important organizations in the field of industrial property, will be held at TURKPATENT in Ankara on September 19–20, 2024. The conference, which will be held in a hybrid format, will provide an important platform where the most current developments and strategies in the field of industrial property will be discussed and information and experience will be shared among the participants.

TURKPATENT President Prof. Dr. M. Zeki DURAK, in his statement regarding the conference, said, "I think that the PATLIB 2024 Conference is a great opportunity to once again showcase the point our country has reached in the field of industrial property at an international level. This conference will be an important event that will encourage innovation by increasing the sharing of knowledge and experience among stakeholders both in our country and internationally. Our country ranks first among 39 countries party to the European Patent Convention with 54 PATLIB Centers. The success Turkiye has achieved with PATLIB Centers is an indication of an ecosystem that understands the importance of industrial property."

PATLIB is the name of units specialized in patent research and patent strategy before the European Patent Office and also have foreign language proficiency. There are 310 TURKPATENT Industrial Property Advisory Units in our country, operating to facilitate access to information and documents related to industrial property rights in a wide range from researchers to academics, from industrialists to inventors.

54 of these units, that have met the necessary conditions, have been granted the right to operate as PATLIB Centers under the coordination of TURKPATENT and the European Patent Office. Among more than 350 PATLIB Centers located in 39 countries party to the European Patent Convention, Turkiye is at the forefront with 54 PATLIB Centers.

The PATLIB Conference is organized in a different member country every year within the framework of the cooperation policies of the national patent offices of the countries party to the European Patent Convention. Representatives from national patent offices and PATLIB Centers will attend the conference to be held in Ankara this year; where the latest developments and practices in the field of industrial property will be shared.

The conference can also be followed online.
