The aim of the project is to create a global technology brand whose intellectual and industrial property belongs to Turkey 100 percent.
Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that Togg is an adventure of making a 61-year-old dream come true.
Kacır said that in order to establish Turkey's Automobile Enterprise Group (TOGG), 4 industry giants consists of Anadolu Group, BMC, Turkcell, Zorlu Holding, and Turkey's largest non-governmental organization Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) joined their forces on 25 June 2018.
Kacır, who said "Togg is a 61-year-old dream come true." reminded that the aim of the project is to create a global technology brand whose intellectual and industrial property belongs to Turkey 100 percent. Kacır said, "It is also planned to form the core of Turkey's mobility ecosystem. Founded for Turkey's domestic and national automobile dream, TOGG is completing its 5th anniversary as of June 25. Here, autonomous, connected and smart devices are developed by bringing together high-end technologies in a mobility ecosystem that is open and accessible to everyone. Thanks to this ecosystem, it is aimed to contribute to a clean future by not producing harmful emissions."
Kacır reminded that the TOGG Technology Campus in Gemlik district of Bursa, whose construction started on 18 July 2020, was opened with a ceremony on 29 October Republice Day of Turkiye with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and gave the following information:
"TOGG is taking important steps in branding and production. In this context, TOGG applies to the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) to get the patent, design and trademark of their own productions registered. In the field of patents, TOGG has a total of 72 patent applications to TURKPATENT, 30 of which belong to 2023. A patent registration was granted for 2 of the applications, the first of which was made in May 2019. The research and examination process of the other 70 applications continues within the legal periods as required by the legislation. Among the patent applications made by TOGG, there are inventions related to vehicle suspension, fasteners, battery charging and vehicle software technologies."
Kacır reported that a total of 18 design applications were made on behalf of TOGG in the field of design, and that 17 of these applications were registered, while the registration process of one design application is in progress.
Pointing out that the Togg trademark designated for the domestic car has been registered on behalf of "Turkey's Automobile Initiative Group Industry and Trade Inc." since 27 December 2019, Kacır said, "In addition, the Group applied to TURKPATENT for 156 different trademarks for phrases and mottos other than 'Togg' and 110 of them were registered. On the other hand, 1 well-known trademark application for Togg has also been registered, and 45 applications are being processed within the scope of legal periods in accordance with the legislation."
