Speaking here, WIPO Director General Daren TANG said that it is an honor to see Türkiye grow stronger and stronger.
Stating that Türkiye's ranking in the world is a great success, TANG said, “When we look at trademark applications according to population size, Türkiye is number one in the world. Wherever I go in the world, when people ask me where we can learn from an intellectual property ecosystem, I mention Türkiye. I think this is an example of how Türkiye is showing the world that it is a leader in some of these IPs. Therefore, I congratulate your country and TÜRKPATENT.”
TANG stated that he is proud that TÜRKPATENT is one of the fastest growing offices as an International Research and Examination Agency (ISA and IPEA).
“TÜRKPATENT is among the top 10 in the world with ISA-IPEA data. I think you have very strong foundations as an office. I believe the focus from now on will be the commercialization of intellectual property.” he added.
TÜRKPATENT President Prof. Dr. M. Zeki DURAK said, “This year TÜRKPATENT is celebrating its 30th anniversary. As TÜRKPATENT, we are among the best countries operating intellectual property worldwide. According to the World Intellectual Property Indicators Report 2023, Türkiye ranked 2nd in designs, 3rd in brands and 12th in patents in the world. In addition to operating as an International Research and Examination Agency (ISA and IPEA) within the scope of PCT since 2017, we will continue to work to better adapt to the developing ecosystem."
