Yenice Ihlamur Balı (Linden Honey) Becomes the 43rd Geographical Indication Registered in the European Union
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih KACIR announced that Yenice Ihlamur Balı (Linden Honey) has become the 43rd product from Türkiye to receive geographical indication registration in the European Union. In a post shared on his social media account, Minister KACIR stated that Türkiye’s valuable products continue to gain recognition internationally, adding:
“Türkiye’s valuable products continue to gain recognition on the international stage. Yenice Ihlamur Balı (Linden Honey) has become our 43rd product registered with geographical indication in the European Union. Congratulations to our province Karabük and our producers. I extend my thanks to everyone who contributed. With the Local Development Initiative, we will continue to write success stories that extend from local to global.”
President of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, Prof. Dr. M. Zeki DURAK also emphasized in a social media post that Anatolia’s treasures continue to be introduced to Europe, saying:
“Yenice Ihlamur Balı (Linden Honey) has become our 43rd geographical indication registered in the European Union. Produced by bees collecting nectar from silver and Caucasian linden trees growing in the Yenice district of Karabük, Yenice Ihlamur Balı (Linden Honey) is a unique flavor that reflects the rich botanical diversity of the region. I hope this valuable registration will benefit our producers, increase the brand value of the region, and strengthen local development.
