Hezarfen Project, which will be implemented to develop the innovation capacities of SMEs in Kırklareli and Edirne provinces, has been launched.
The Opening Protocol of the Hezarfen Project, which will be implemented in order to develop the innovation capacities of SMEs in Kırklareli and Edirne provinces, was was signed at Kırklareli University, by the President of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, Prof. Dr. Muhammed Zeki DURAK and Kırklareli Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice President, Serkan KESER.
In his speech within the scope of the ceremony, TÜRKPATENT President Prof. Dr. M. Zeki DURAK stated that they aim to further strengthen the importance of our regions in the industry and increase the competitiveness of local SMEs at national and international levels with the "Hezarfen Project" and said, "We are here for the basis of "intellectual property", which should be considered as a necessary element for SMEs operating in these dynamic regions for sustainable growth and in order to have an effective position in the global market."
Underlining the increased ranking of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in the international arena, thanks to the projects and applications, and important developments they achieve every day, DURAK also included in his speech the application statistics that have gained momentum in the last twenty years.
The statistics shared by TÜRKPATENT President Prof. Dr. Muhammed Zeki DURAK are as follows;
(2002-2022) ;
• Domestic patent applications increased 22 times to approximately 9 thousand (9009)
• Domestic utility model applications increased 6 times to 5 thousand 502
• Domestic trademark applications increased 7 times to approximately 197 thousand (197.235)
• Domestic design applications increased fourfold and reached approximately 78 thousand (78.268).
• First place in Europe in trademarks since 2011,
• According to 2022 data, we hold the 4th place in the world in domestic trademark applications,
• 12th place in the world in domestic patent applications,
• 4th place in the world in domestic utility model applications,
• And 2nd in the world, as well as 1st in Europe in domestic design applications.
Following the speeches, TÜRKPATENT President Prof. Dr. Muhammed Zeki DURAK and Kırklareli Governor Birol EKİCİ presented plaques within the scope of the ceremony, to the individuals and companies that apply for industrial property the most in Kırklareli and Edirne provinces, where the project will be implemented.
The ceremony was concluded after a training seminar on industrial property rights and patent research given to the participants.
