TÜRKPATENT Information and Document Units Training and Consultation Meeting took place at the TÜRKPATENT conference hall on 18 -19 December 2023.
The opening speeches were made by TÜRKPATENT President Prof. Dr. M. Zeki DURAK and Erol ÖKTEN, Director General of Management Services of the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
In his speech, DURAK stated that in order to provide rapid access to information and documents regarding industrial property rights by individuals, academicians, institutions and organizations that conduct R&D studies, there exists 305 Units, especially of Universities, Technology Transfer Offices, Development Agencies and Provincial Directorates of Industry and Technology, in which 483 representatives are on duty in these facilities, established in our 81 provinces.
Emphasizing the importance of the units in the industrial property ecosystem, DURAK informed that they updated the name of the "Information and Document Unit" to "Industrial Property Advisory Unit" and the name of the representatives to "Industrial Property Consultant" in line with their current work, duty and field of activity.
DURAK commemorated and expressed his prayers for the unit representatives, Hatay Mustafa Kemal University Technopark Deputy Director General Serbay BUCAK and Adıyaman Industry and Technology Provincial Directorate staff Engineer Abdullah YALDIZ, who lost their lives in the February 6th earthquakes, and Boğaziçi University Technology Transfer Office Intellectual Property Rights Manager Murat AKMAN, who lost his life recently.
Within the scope of the meeting, trainings on trademarks, designs, geographical indications and patents were given to unit representatives.
After completing the two days of training, TÜRKPATENT President Prof. Dr. M. Zeki DURAK held a consultation meeting with the unit representatives.
